Stila Shade Mystere Collection

Hey guys,
A few weeks back I was invited to the Stila Spring launch and as always fell head over heels with some of their new releases. You will know by now from my previous posts that I am a big fan. Stila always stand out to me as quite an innovative brand especially being one of the first brands to launch the liquid eyeshadows but they always seem to be coming out with new products and colours that are so current. This Spring their focus is on skin, which as a skin lover I was so happy about. As well as launching new shades in their liquid eyeshadow formats, Stila have also released Skin Perfecting Colours and Primers as well as the In the Buff powder spray (see what I mean about the innovation!).

The *Shade Mystere Liquid Eyeshadows are a new release for Spring and start off as two marbleised shades but when applied mix together to create a duo chrome effect. A few items from the collection play on the idea of an optical illusion and that everything is not quite as it looks. Above is the shade hypnotic which has undertones of burgundy and olive mixed with and antique gold. What I love about their liquid eyeshadows is simply the ease of use and how long lasting they are. Carrying on with the illusion theme is the *Shade Mystere Face Gloss, a beautiful marbleised high shine balm that can be applied to the high points to create that dewy glass skin look. It looks like it will come out quite pigmented but once applied is quite transparent with little flecks of colour. The shades contained are perfect for any skin colour and can also be used over the lids to create a glossy eye look.
Skin Perfecting Primer in Sunkissed |
Having beautiful skin is on the top of my priority list when it comes to make-up so when I saw the new releases I was really eager to try. The Skin Perfecting Colours come in eight shades which may seem like a small shade range however each colour can be matched to up to four skin tones due to their translucency. These are meant to be worn like a tinted moisturiser rather than a foundation and the consistency is very light weight which creates the effect of a naturally flawless base. The illusion everyone is trying to create. One of the most innovative products is the In the Buff Powder Spray. A loose setting powder which has been packaged into a spray. I absolutely love the idea of this especially for travel. The idea is to spray onto your hand or palette and then lift with a brush and apply to the skin, rather than spraying directly to the face, although this would be amazing. The formula of the powder is literally one of the finest and softest powders I have ever felt.

I was lucky enough to be gifted the *Skin Perfecting Primer in Sun kissed which can also be used as a bronzer. This has to be by far one of my favourite pieces from the collection as it creates a flawless golden glow. It can be applied all over the face prior to makeup application for a subtle look or then added on top of makeup as a bronzer or both. It replicates that holiday glow without the need to actually go on holiday and I just love it. The texture is that of a soufflé so can be quite thick in consistency but this allows you to really work it into the skin depending on the desired effect. The glass jar packaging is just so opulent and I have to say this is going to be one of my must have products for the coming months. I can see myself wearing it all the time. It makes me feel so confident in my skin and feel as though I don't need any other makeup. Below I have used it to make the skin the main feature of the look and I am happy to go without eyeshadow, blush or highlighter using the primer as a bronzer instead.

Overall my must-haves from the collection would definitely be the Sun kissed Skin perfecting primer/bronzer and the In the Buff Powder Spray. Keep an eye out on my instagram for a mini tutorial on how to create the perfect sun-kissed skin in the picture above. What are your favourites from the collection?
