Rodial - Collagen Boost Lip Lacquer Review

11:30

Hi Everyone,

I recently received the Rodial Collagen Boost Lip Laquers from a fellow beauty addict Safiyah Tasneem and I was so happy to receive them. I have tried bits and bobs from Rodial but this mainly focused around their skincare. If you aren't aware, Rodial have been around since the 1999 and are a beauty brand that groups its products into particular skincare concerns. They also have a more affordable sister brand, Nip + Fab which I too have used many times. You my be familiar with some of their ranges because of the unusual names, such as,  Dragon's Blood (great for hydration), or Bee Venom (perfect for those looking to target the signs of ageing). Rodial's makeup collection launched in 2014, so is relatively new. But from what I have tried I have been impressed, particularly with their concealer and perfect contour shades.

Based on what I had already tried, I had high hopes for their Collagen Boost Lip Lacquers. What first struck me was the packaging. It felt very expensive, especially with the lip lacquer lid being faux snake skin effect, you can tell you are purchasing a quality product. From the first time I applied these I literally felt the effects of the skincare that has been added to them. They are packed full of ingredients which are supposed to enhance the collagen production in your lips. So you can achieve both short term and long term effects. Initially I noticed how hydrated and glossy my lips felt without feeling sticky. The formula leaves your lips looking smooth and plump which was well needed as mine are going through a dry patch in these cold winter months.

I feel as though I am a little tired of the matte look, my lips are quite wrinkly so I aways find matte lipsticks or liquid lipsticks finding their way into the creases and leaving my lips looking small and shrivelled. The lip lacquers offer a stark contrast which was a breath of fresh air as my lips were left looking bigger and more nourished. Unfortunately I did find myself reapplying after 4 hours, however this isn't to say the pigment had gone, only the high gloss which is understandable with this effect. But to be honest I enjoyed reapplying and getting that instant hit of volume once again.

They come in six shades, five nude and one shimmer, all high gloss and are priced at £28, which is quite a lot for the 7ml of product your are getting. However you have to think of these as two products in one, both a lip gloss and lip plumper. I think they would make a perfect gift or treat for yourself. My personal favourites have to be Spice Spice Baby and Champagne Showers! Have you tried any of Rodial's beauty products? What's your favourite type of lip product, matte or gloss?

Amina xx
