Festival/Mermaid/Unicorn make-up look!
16:17Hi Guys,
So the title might be confusing but I couldn't give this look one name -it's too amazing for that! It is perfect for the upcoming festival season and also very current, with unicorn and mermaid vibes (which we're all obsessed with right now)!
The look is really easy to achieve and it's the colours that make the look what it is. So no matter how you put them together, it is going to come out fantastic! Scroll down to see how I used these products to get the look.
For the skin I applied Laura Mercier Blemish-less Foundation Primer. Then using the Beauty Blender Pro I applied MAC Pro Longwear foundation in NC35.
To get the eye look, it is best to use a heavy primer like Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo in Creme De Nude. This is the perfect matte base to allow the eyeshadow to really pop. I actually only used eyeshadows from the Sleek I-divine original palette to get the look. I first applied Rimmel by Kate Shadow Stick in Pure Turquoise to the inner lid and blended out. I then applied the Turquoise colour from the Sleek palette over the top. To the outer corner and socket, I then applied Rimmel By Kate Shadow Stick in Deep Amethyst and blended this out and put the purple colour from the Sleek palette over the top. I then used Kiko Water Eyeshadow in Lavender as a transition colour through the socket and blended downwards rather than upwards. Finally I used the soft pink colour from the Sleek palette through the brow bone. I use the Deep Amethyst Eyeshadow Stick as a liner on the waterline and then blended Kiko Lavender under the eye too.
Next I applied Tarte Clay Paint Liner. Just a warning that this liner is literally like tar. It is so hard to remove and once you touch it with your fingers all hell breaks loose because whatever you use, soap/make-up remover, you leave black finger prints everywhere!
After this, I applied NYX Glitter in Crystal to the inner corner and around the eye using Too Faced Glitter Glue. This glitter is such a beautiful holographic glitter which reflects an array of colours. I finally applied *Nouveau Lashes in Natural Style 3. I left the brows quite natural and only filled them in slightly as I didn't want them to frame the eyes.
For the highlighter I applied TopShop Glow Dome in Galactic along the cheekbone, up to the temples and above the brow to really make the highlight stand out. I then applied it down the centre of my nose. It is such a beautiful pink with purple undertones. Over the top, I brushed on Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette in Zanzibar.
For the lips, firstly I lined them with the Rimmel by Kate Amethyst Eyeshadow Stick I used on the eyes earlier. I then used the TopShop Glow Dome as a lipstick and applied all over the lips and really blended out the liner. I finally applied Lime Crime Diamond Crusher in Lit over the top. I had to custom make the colour to get that perfect lip for the look.
I hope you like the look! I paired it with a middle parted braided hair look, however unfortunately because my hair is so dark you can't really see it in the pictures. But I think braids are so nice for that festival look. I would love to hear your thoughts!
Amina xx
